Sr Data Scientist – Alternative Data and Predictive Analytics
Location: New York
I'm currently working with one of the world’s leading alternative investment management firms, and they’re seeking a talented
Data Scientist . This team is at the forefront of utilizing advanced analytics and unique datasets to predict and track the financial and economic performance of companies and countries globally. About the Role:
You’ll have the opportunity to: Apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques to large, unstructured datasets. Evaluate new data sources and determine their relevance to key financial metrics. Produce data-driven forecasts to support both quantitative and discretionary investment strategies. Work closely with portfolio managers and analysts to generate insights that have a direct impact on investment decisions. What They’re Looking For: PhDin Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field. Start up experience Excellent communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Proven experience conducting independent research on large datasets. Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, R, MATLAB, C++, Java, C#, or Perl. An interest in financial markets and experience working with alternative data sources. Why This Role Stands Out:
