And we want you. We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft. This position is onsite in Fort Worth at Bell's state of the art Manufacturing Technology Center at Hwy820 and I-35W. Dynamic Systems Engineer, Manufacturing Innovation Bring your innovative mindset to Bell to lead the way to the most advanced aircraft drive and rotor technologies in the world. You will have the opportunity to lead stimulating projects that result in direct applications for new designs. You will work directly with Integrated Product Teams of various programs, as well as in-house engineers in robotics and automation, metallic materials, composite materials, and digital engineering. Your career will rapidly accelerate with opportunities that provide hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing technologies, internal and external customer communications, and design-build-test experiences. What you’ll be doing as a Dynamic Systems Engineer: Develop novel and improved methods for designing and manufacturing complex dynamic components and assemblies. Create project charters, test plans, and manufacturing readiness level roadmaps for project execution. Interface with program dynamic systems engineers, robotics and automation engineers, metallic and nonmetallic manufacturing innovation engineers, Bell technical fellows, program IPTs, and Bell manufacturing centers of excellence. Represent Bell with engagement in industry organizations, committees, and government/industry workshops and conferences. Prepare and pitch technical proposals for independent research and development (IRAD) and contracted research and development (CRAD). Define and justify capital equipment, facilities, raw materials, subcontracted services, durable and perishable tooling requirements for the successful execution of projects. Skills You Bring To this Role: Understanding of American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) standards, methods and materials. Experience with gear, gearbox and metallic rotor component manufacturing equipment, tooling, processes, metrology and nondestructive inspection as well as defect analysis & material review. Familiarity with aerospace materials including metals, thermal treatments, and surface finishing. Effective communicator, both oral and written. Presentation skills, technical writing skills, and project organization, execution and reporting are most important. Capability to manage projects with budget, schedule and resource allocations. We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate. What you need to be successful: Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered. At least 10 years of aerospace dynamic (gear, gearbox and rotorcraft) component experience required. Direct aviation experience with dynamic systems engineering design, analysis, and manufacturing methods. CATIA V5, V6 and 3DX direct experience.
