Locations: United States - California - Foster City Time Type: Full time Posted on: Vor mehr als 30 Tagen Job Requisition ID: R0042402 Job Description The Protein Engineering group is a specialized team within the Protein Therapeutics department that is responsible for the optimization and engineering of large molecule drug candidates. We seek a highly motivated Associate Scientist to contribute to the engineering of novel antibody binding domains, fusion proteins (e.g. cytokines), and multispecific formats using structure-based rational and/or computational design approaches, as well as contribute to the development of new methodologies for high-throughput cloning, expression, and functional screening. The successful candidate will support cross-functional project teams to develop novel biologics for clinical development. Essential Duties and Job Functions: Enable rapid optimization of novel antibody design via humanization, structure-based rational design, computational design, and/or library-based approaches. Enable fast generation of antibodies and/or multispecifics by utilizing state-of-the-art molecular biology approaches. Maintain familiarity with scientific literature and independently design, execute, analyze, and interpret experiments. Effectively communicate and present project goals and experimental findings to diverse audiences. Organize and execute multiple projects in a collaborative team setting. Thrive in a fast paced, data-driven and scientifically rigorous environment. Maintain compliance with company policies and record keeping. Knowledge, Experience and Skills: Applicants must have a B.S./M.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology or a related field, with a minimum of 5+ for B.S./ 3+ for M.S. years of relevant professional experience. An ideal candidate will have experience in most of the following areas: Proficiency using various molecular biology techniques, such as PCR fragment assembly, vector design, site-directed mutagenesis, Gibson assembly, and/or Golden gate cloning is required. Familiarity with Geneious Prime or similar molecular design software is required. Proficiency in antibody variable domain reformatting is required. Strong experience in antibody humanization and/or liability remediation is preferred. Familiarity with structure-based protein engineering (e.g. PyMOL, MOE, etc) and design is preferred. Preferred Experience: An ideal candidate will preferably have 7+ for B.S./ 5+ for M.S. years of industry experience. The salary range for this position is: $124,015.00 - $160,490.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
