The Amazon Display Protocols team is looking for a talented and passionate software engineer to help change the way people use interactive graphics applications in the Cloud! We are developing state of the art, low-latency streaming protocols service which provide our customers with a secure way to deliver remote desktops and application streaming from any cloud or data center to any device, over varying network conditions. AWS services like Workspaces and AppStream 2.0 as well as many customers around the world, leverage our technology to run interactive applications remotely on EC2 instances, and stream their user interface to simpler client machines. You will be part of a distributed engineering team with members both in the US and Italy. This position is for candidates who would like to join our team in Seattle. Job Responsibilities
As a software development engineer on the Amazon Display Protocols team you will be part of an international team building technologies and products, like NICE DCV (https://aws.amazon.com/hpc/dcv). Your responsibilities will focus on solving real customer problems and will span across all aspects of development, from the design of distributed architectures, to the development of efficient networking protocols, from low level graphic and GPU optimizations to the implementation of elegant user interfaces. This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two/three months. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our software is robust and reliable. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
