Sr. HVAC Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior HVAC Engineer to join our team in Mountain View, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and components, with a proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex HVAC issues. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Location: Mountain View, CA Type: Full-time, On-site Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day shift Pay Rate: $59.13/hr
Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of HVAC principles, system components, electrical wiring, and refrigerant handling.
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems, identify faulty components, replace parts, and restore proper functionality.
Analyze system issues by checking Building Automation Systems (BAS), blueprints, diagrams, schematic readings, pressure readings, airflow, electrical wiring diagrams, and other indicators to pinpoint the cause of problems.
Explain HVAC system issues to building occupants, discuss maintenance options, and answer questions about system operation.
Perform preventive maintenance on HVACR and chiller systems, including mobilization of tools, equipment, and materials.
Provide support for co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers, engineers, and others as necessary to support work.
Ensure work is performed in a manner consistent with established work practices and quality standards.
Assist other trades periodically in times of need.
Perform troubleshooting techniques on equipment to determine problems and effect repairs promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
Perform any and all other assigned duties/tasks.
Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of Skilled Trades experience
5+ years of experience working with HVAC and refrigeration systems
EPA 608 Universal Certification
Valid driver's license
High School diploma or GED equivalent
In-depth knowledge and experience with various building equipment
Strong communication skills
Ability to read and interpret work from drawings, written work orders, sketches, blueprints, and technical manuals
Physical requirements: Prolonged standing and walking
Repeated bending, squatting, stooping, and working in uncomfortable and tiring positions
Working on ladders or scaffolding
Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
Ability to work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
