$155,000 to $225,000 Per Year. DOE Position Summary: Client (CLIENT) is the only private sector operator of core payments systems in the United States. We clear and settle approximately $2 trillion in U.S. dollar payments each day, representing half of all commercial ACH and Wire volume in the U.S. Client’s Real Time Payments (RTP) network, launched in 2017, was the first new payments system in 40 years. The RTP network currently includes over 600 banks and credit unions and currently clears and settles approximately one million transactions per day on average. RTP volume is rapidly growing and CLIENT is continuing to work with financial institutions to develop innovative products and solutions for both domestic and international payments. The Strategic Product Engineering Team supports RTP, Secure Token, and other new products. This position is for a Vice President to lead in-house development for Strategic Products. The successful candidate will be responsible for development and support of all internally developed applications supporting real-time payments and tokenization services. A key aspect of the role will be to support the migration to Cloud-based computing. Qualifications required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or other related field 5+ years related IT experience in analysis, design, development, documentation, implementing and testing of software systems in Java, Spring, J2EE App servers on Red Hat Linux, UNIX or AIX Experience managing agile development projects Experience with complex, mission-critical system design and evaluating and proposing alternative software designs Thorough knowledge of and experience in secure development practices Experience in both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with other staff within the organization Highly motivated, enthusiastic and self-starter. Qualifications desired: Experience in wholesale or retail banking technology, especially money transfer (e.g. ISO20022, Faster Payments, SWIFT, Fedwire, RTGS, etc.) would be helpful Experience with IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ or DB2 is a plus Knowledgeable in Software Reliability Engineering, test automation and CI/CD processes and tools such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Sonar Cube, Fortify, etc. Experience developing or migrating applications to Cloud Environments (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) Experience developing applications in Erlang or other functional programming such as Haskell, Scala, etc. is a strong plus Essential functions and responsibilities: Manage development, maintenance, and level 3 support Ensure adherence to all development and company policies Promote teamwork and work effectively cross-organizationally Develop/improve team skills, create and implement training plans and set development targets Effectively identify and manage risks Monitor performance metrics and take corrective actions to improve quality and productivity Success factors/job competencies: Resourceful when working independently Respectful of others when working collaboratively Easily adapt to new technology and design patterns Effectively supervise developers to ensure successful completion of tasks Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to prioritize appropriately Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Occasional travel may be required. Employees will report to the office two to three days each week.
