Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA. You will lead the design of hardware that runs our robotic device. You will work closely with embedded and mechanical engineers to specify and design solutions to complex real-world problems. As a staff contributor, you will have a large impact on the architecture and direction of our electrical systems. Previous medical devices or other regulated industries are required.

Responsibilities
Design electronic hardware for complex robotic systems.
Work closely with the Mechanical team to layout the physical PCBA.
Collaborate with the Embedded team to support processing and sensing needs.
Manage component selection, schematic capture, and board layout in Altium.
Oversee the development of assembly test equipment.
Perform board reliability assessments and failure diagnostics.
Conduct testing and documentation for robotic hardware.
Provide guidance to product and technology teams.
Coordinate, manage, and document project goals and progress, and recommend appropriate revisions.
Set project technical strategic direction.
Act as a mentor to junior engineers.
Lead engineering teams to the successful completion of project goals.
About You
8+ years of electronics design experience.
Experience with the design of Electrical Medical Equipment (IEC 60601).
Proficiency with Altium and product lifecycle tools.
Experience in flex circuits, PCB technologies, and board layout.
Working knowledge of common communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, USB, MIPI, Ethernet, etc.).
Experience with the design of inductive sensing.
Experience with high-speed sampling and routing, switching power supplies, BLDC electric motors, MOSFET driving, and A/D.
Experience in design for test and design for manufacturability.
