Description
Acara Solutions has been providing advanced manufacturing firms nationally with our staffing related services for over 65 years. We currently have a 3-6 month contract position for an Embedded Engineer. This contractor can work onsite or hybrid (coming in weekly) in San Diego. This is at a Sr, Sr Staff, or Principal experience level. Our client specializes in low power consumption IoT wireless module products.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, implement and test RF drivers for SoC products.
Work with RF and Systems teams to understand requirements and write clear documents that describe software procedures, high level design, and detailed design.
Understand existing implementation from source code, modify and support bug fixing.
Hands-on testing using lab equipment such as testers, power supplies, temp chambers, etc.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
BSEE with a minimum of 15 years of experience in embedded software, or a MSEE and 10 years minimum experience. This experience should also include:
Expert level in C programming is a must along with debugging using industry standard embedded tools such as J-Link, OpenOCD, etc.
Working knowledge in Python is a must.
Working knowledge in Git/Gitlab/JIRA.
Prior experience in developing device drivers for RF circuits in an SoC and familiarity in Wi-Fi and BT/BLE standards.
Understanding of radio impairments and software-based compensation techniques.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to break down complex problems and evaluate tradeoffs between proposed solutions.
