Position : Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering (Computer Engineering Technology/Electronics) Effective Date:
August 18, 2025 (Fall Semester) Salary Range:
The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary is $74,652 to $158,688/per year. The anticipated hiring range is $101,760 to $104,940/per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Application Deadline : Review of applications to begin January 7, 2025. Position opened until filled (or recruitment canceled) Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Degree at the time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2025. Specialization in the area of Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics or related fields with focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the college level Record of or demonstrated potential for successful research and scholarly activity Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including Black/African American, Latine/x, Native American/Indigenous, low-income, first-generation, and minoritized students Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level Experience in teaching courses in the areas of Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering technology, Electronics or related fields Demonstrated ability and clear plans for the development of research programs in Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics or related fields with focus on AI and Machine Learning Demonstrated ability to supervise student thesis and projects Ability to develop programs and curriculum Active participant in academic governance Experience of successfully working with populations demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body Experience mentoring or supporting students with minoritized identities or experience using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in, or related to, Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics, as well as fundamental undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology.
