Duties and Responsibilities Selected candidate will assist with the following technical tasks: Hydrologic analyses for land development, transportation, green infrastructure, and flood control projects Hydraulic analyses of storm drain conduit and open channel systems Floodplain hydraulic analyses and studies for natural channels and restoration and flood control projects Water quality calculations for the design of best management practices (BMPs) Flow mitigation/detention modeling Preparation of conceptual design plans Preparation of technical reports, such drainage studies, stormwater quality management plans (SWQMPs), and feasibility studies Skills, Experience, and Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following educational background and/or experience: Hydrologic analysis such as Rational Method calculations Hydraulic calculations and/or modeling, such as HEC-RAS Data analysis using Excel or other software Computer aided drafting and design (CADD) software (i.e., Autodesk and/or MicroStation) Spatial analysis (i.e., GIS), data analysis using statistical programs, and database management Technical writing/ technical document preparation Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team with a focus on project success Education and Licensure BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related field. Completed course work in the following areas is desired: hydrology and technical writing. Completed course work in the following areas is a plus for consideration: hydraulics, water quality, GIS, AutoCAD (or MicroStation), and surveying.
