The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the development and management of the DMP Information Technology and Service Functions. This includes directing all IT operations to meet Company and Customer requirements and development of new technical solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field or related experience.
Minimum eight (8) years experience within Information Technology.
Experience with the following: Technical Management, Technical Understanding, Analyzing Information , Informing Others, Staffing, Problem Solving, Data Center Management, Developing Budgets, Coordination, Strategic Planning, Quality Management.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work with the Executive Management of an organization, and to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong project management, organizational and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines, to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects.
Strong background in Linux systems administration, preferably with RedHat Enterprise, CentOS, and Ubuntu in addition to Microsoft Windows Server environments. Experience must include building and deploying servers, installing, maintaining, and patching Linux and Windows operating systems, and supporting production applications in a 24x7 environment.
Strong working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components, including firewalls, load balancers, web and database servers.
Strong experience in an environment comprised of multiple web-enabled applications including experience supporting Apache, Tomcat, Jrun, and Jboss;, SQL, MySQL data base query and administration, Shell, and HTTP, as well as standard systems level support to include enterprise monitoring and diagnostics. Strong SNMP, SMTP, DNS, and BIND Network Fundamentals.
Proficiency with and understanding of virtualization on an enterprise level, preferably using VMware ESX in addition to proficiency with Cloud server environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, vision, and management to the IT department while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals.
Develop the IT staff to meet the changing needs of users, groups and offices; new projects and technologies; and varying staff strengths.
Communicate regularly with executive management and all users of information services and systems.
Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, licensing, purchasing, and service provision including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and to end-users and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including physical servers, virtual servers, cloud servers, PCs, network hardware, operating systems, telecommunications infrastructure, software applications, and peripherals.
Evaluate and/or recommend purchases of servers (including remote or cloud server arrangements), peripheral equipment, network hardware, and software.
Perform and/or oversee software and application development, installation, and upgrades.
Document and Maintain site licenses for department/organization.
Document and Maintain backup/restore & disaster recovery preparedness.
Assist in maintaining and updating company websites and web applications.
Maintain proficiency and stay abreast of all current technology and opportunities concerning IT related hardware and software.
