Under the direction of the Director of Diversity and Student Engagement, this role ensures humanistic, diverse, equitable, and inclusive student life programming by creating, implementing, and assessing a robust student life and co-curricular student experience through campus activities and events, campus-community engagement and enrichment, and student leadership development. Essential Functions
Develops and fosters relationships with student leaders and student-led organizations. Coordinates student elections and other student appointed activities. Advises student government/class leaders and organizations; promotes, facilitates, and coordinates program and activity development for students, organizations, clubs, committees, events, and activities. Develops and coordinates large-scale student events including Matriculation Week, class retreats, and student leadership dinners. Advises current and incoming students on leadership, student life, student resources, including health and wellness. Manages student life social media campaigns and initiatives; oversees day-to-day management of Student Life social media platforms. Disburses student support resources and provides advice during student crisis response and intervention. Develops and distributes online surveys for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Prepares and analyzes reports related to diversity and student engagement initiatives. Researches latest innovations in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB); gathers data and provides recommendations. Coordinates planning and implementation of DEIB initiatives and programming. Assists in the development of DEIB training programs; facilitates training and dialogues. Develops department reports and other communications. Coordinates student travel to conferences. Processes vouchers, authorization for payment forms, and other administrative forms. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director. Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of: Higher education procedures and protocols. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google, and Adobe Acrobat. Office methods and procedures. Principles of business letter and report writing. Customer service principles and practices. Experience: Minimum three years of experience working in an administrative support or student services role. Education: [Specify Education Requirements] Working Conditions: Position is full-time, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Requires occasional weekend or evening assignments. May involve some in-and out-of-state travel. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of: Student services policies and procedures in a graduate program. Familiarity with electronic calendars, Canvas, Banner, Qualtrics, EMS, and WebAdMIT. Social Media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Experience: Working in a higher education institution. Public speaking and facilitating discussions. Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in organizational leadership, higher education, or a related field. Ability to: Communicate effectively and foster relationships with diverse groups. Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Work independently and in a team environment. Maintain confidentiality of information. Project a professional demeanor. Other: Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion. Physical Requirements
