Dominican University Chicago Campus Position Summary: The Interim Part-time Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program (BNATP) Clinical Placement and Program Coordinator is an exciting opportunity for passionate nurses looking to make a real impact in healthcare education! This is a flexible 6 month, 15 to 20 hours per week interim role. As the primary liaison between Dominican University’s BNATP and local healthcare agencies, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the clinical experiences of future nursing professionals. This position allows you to manage and evaluate student performance at clinical sites, operationally support new clinical relationships, and work closely with students to support their growth and success in meeting their clinical curriculum requirements. Working alongside the Executive Director of Academic Affairs, Chicago Campus, this position provides you with the opportunity to expand clinical partnerships, support the implementation of our new BNAT program, and influence the direction of healthcare education. Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical Site Coordination: Works directly with the Executive Director of Academics on course scheduling, onboarding of adjunct faculty, and participation in the Chicago Campus faculty community of practice. Supports the Executive Director of Academics in strategic assessment of multi-site BNAT instruction and program launch. Supports the Executive Director in overseeing BNAT Workforce Management to ensure accurate planning and forecasting. Obtain signatures for renewing and/or terminating contracts between DU and clinical sites, based on alignment with clinical objectives. Supports the scheduling of 3 clinical placement sites for BNAT students, including 1 hospital and 2 long-term care facilities. Operational Responsibilities: Maintain skills sheet and turn in at required deadline. Supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings, providing timely and constructive feedback. Provide feedback to the students as they are performing skills based on the course curriculum outlined. Qualifications: The following qualifications are required unless otherwise stated: Registered Nurse License in Illinois. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Two years of nursing experience and one year of experience as a nurse in one or both of the following areas: Teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program. Providing nursing care, including personal care and activities to older or chronically ill adults at a LTC facility. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with individuals at various levels throughout the university and healthcare agencies. Positive attitude and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced dynamic environment. Well organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously; self-starter. Ability to work in a team environment. Comfortable with the use of technology. Physical Demands: Ability to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Salary and FLSA Status: Salary: $31.25 - $36.06 hourly. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, 15 - 20 hours. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
