Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator IV candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring systems are fully operating at high availability, rapidly troubleshooting and resolving systems issues, and handling tickets and calls from the customer. The position is at a customer site and frequent customer interaction is required. Duties and responsibilities include: Work closely with government Customers, contractor Project Lead, Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Application Vendor, and Application End Users. Perform daily system monitoring and monthly patching. Troubleshoot network and application performance issues and recommend appropriate action. Rapidly troubleshoot issues, resolving systems issues via a ticketing tracking system. Report to customer location during off-hours if necessary. Deploy software patches on a monthly basis at the customer location during off-hours. Understand system hardening and security through the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and patching. Familiarity with Oracle database environments on Windows and CentOS servers. Create or revise existing documentation. Communicate complex system configurations simply and clearly in documentation. Create/revise documentation including: Daily standard operating procedures (SOP), Security Test Procedures (STP) based on a Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM), System Install Procedures (SIP), System Administration Guide (SAG), System User Manual (SUM), and/or Interface Control Document (ICD). Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. Required Qualifications: TS/SCI with poly clearance adjudication or active TS ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly. Bachelor’s degree in a field of study applicable to the position with 8+ years of relevant experience. Additional 4 years experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum of 8 years of experience with System Administration. Active Security+ (DoD 8570 Baseline certification for IAT Lvl 2). Ability to install, configure, and maintain systems according to project requirements. Experience with implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG). Experience maintaining applications built on SQL Server or Oracle database environments. Experience writing scripts to monitor system services, resources, data mine logs, etc. Experience writing/editing PowerShell scripts. Strong experience with Microsoft Windows 2016 or higher and Red Hat Linux 8 or higher operating systems. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud and VMWare. Troubleshoot and debug server-based applications and/or IT infrastructure components. Perform occasional after-hour tasks, including restarting systems, application upgrades, software maintenance, etc. Ensure all necessary documentation to operate and maintain the equipment and/or software is regularly maintained. Perform performance monitoring and provide documentation of issues and recommendations to upper management. Maintain and patch systems, software, and applications to eliminate bugs/defects, security vulnerabilities, and maintain technology currency of systems and applications to maintain or renew existing ATOs. Participate in change management processes to include patch compliance and Information Assurance Validation Testing. Desired Qualifications: Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action. Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server. Familiarity with Tomcat 8.5 or higher. Familiarity with JAVA Open JDK/JRE 11+. Peraton Overview

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
