Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer / Designer

Job Description Position Description – Work as a team member with our Mechanical Engineering Consulting firm in our San Diego office to develop detailed designs, specifications, and drawings for a diverse portfolio of clients and projects. Daily Position Duties: Provide Mechanical Engineering services for HVAC and Plumbing systems from schematic design to final construction documents and construction administration. Provide energy calculations, HVAC load calculations, and building modeling. Review shop drawings and submittals for construction administration. Attend job meetings and site visits for field work. Position Requirements: Mechanical Engineers / Designers with at least 4-6 years design/drafting experience in Healthcare, Commercial complexes, Education, Military, and other institutional design. Working knowledge of hydronic piping, load / Title 24 calculations (Energy Pro), duct sizing/layout, plumbing piping, and medical gas sizing/layout. Strong communication skills for interactions with Building Owners, Architects, and maintenance personnel. Self-starter with the ability to perform daily job requirements with minimal oversight and direction. AutoCAD Experience (Revit a plus). The candidate should be familiar with the California Mechanical, Plumbing, and Building codes and Military UFC's (Unified Facilities Criteria). Willingness to work extra hours as needed to meet client deadlines.
