Brief Summary of Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Director of Policy & Administration, the Non-Senate Academic Appointment Analyst serves as one of two the Unit 18 and non-senate appointment specialists supporting the program of academic personnel administration for the College of Letters and Science.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
4-6 years of experience in functional areas of Academic Personnel/Non-Senate Faculty.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of organization and college goals, priorities and values and the legal and human implications of decisions.
4-6 years of experience in UC Academic Personnel Policies.
Thorough knowledge of systemwide and organization policies, union contracts, procedures and practices that govern academic HR administration.
Knowledge of trends in academia, especially in areas of academic planning, human resource management and administration.
Ability to analyze complex management issues, develop project scope and solutions, give professional advice to senior officials and make critical decisions regarding personnel.
Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address moderately complex issues and present nuanced analyses.

40% Non-Senate Academic Personnel Transactions:
Administers and coordinates the review, analysis, processing, tracking, and data management of all temporary academic personnel transactions for the College of Letters and Science.
35% Policy Development and Administration:
Serves as the resource and initial contact point for non-senate academic personnel policy within the College.
15% Training, Consulting, Advising & Liaison Activities:
Provides regular consultation and advice to department chairs and staff in the Divisions.
10% Resource Planning, Development & Management:
Works closely with the deans and the assistant deans for the Divisions regarding the utilization of non-senate faculty.
