Construction Estimator

Job Title: Intermediate Level Construction Estimator Location: Southern California (Office-Based Position) Job Type: Full-Time (On-Site) Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Intermediate Level Construction Estimator to join our team. This position is based in our Southern California office, with no option for remote work. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge network of subcontractors in the Southern California region and will be capable of independently managing the entire bid build-up process from start to finish without the need for supervisor support. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Develop comprehensive bid packages and proposals, ensuring all required documentation is included. Utilize your network of subcontractors in Southern California to obtain competitive bids and ensure accurate pricing. Conduct thorough reviews of project plans, specifications, and related documents to identify project scope and requirements. Independently manage the bid process from initial take-off through to final bid submission, ensuring deadlines are met. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements. Maintain accurate records of all estimates, proposals, and bid submissions for future reference and reporting. Stay current with industry trends, construction methods, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates. Participate in post-bid reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes. Qualifications: A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects. Extensive knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes. Strong network of subcontractors within the Southern California region. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar platforms. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and reliable estimates. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. Working Conditions: This position is based in our Southern California office and requires full-time on-site attendance. No remote work or telecommuting options are available for this role.
