Act as a subject matter expert in BigCommerce, specializing in all facets of the platform Be on the front lines with other Front End Developers building out custom-tailored BigCommerce themes, altering pre-existing templates, and complex custom solutions Help mentor and guide other Front End Developers in best practices, including code reviews and technical ownership, to ensure high quality work of all developers Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and clients to architect and craft BigCommerce websites Review designs and approaches for best practices in UX Create compelling solutions and functionality that inspire users and meet business goals Understand business needs that drive technical project requirements Stay current on developing technologies and properly utilize them in your work Requirements:

Minimum 4-5 years of experience in front-end technology A minimum of 2 years of experience in BigCommerce website development Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS nuances and proper semantics Expert skillset in JavaScript Solid understanding of progressive enhancement, responsive design, accessibility, and best UX/UI practices Strong knowledge of the BigCommerce platform Expertise in BigCommerce theme development and customization Expert level knowledge of BigCommerce Stencil framework (handlebars, front matters, etc.) Comfortability working with GraphQL, Storefront APIs, and Stencil util-APIs Ability to work within a team environment where design and production are a collaborative effort Solid understanding of the WCAG specification and accessibility approaches Experienced in handling REST APIs Background in page speed and rendering efficiency testing and remediation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with team members and clients Experience working within a source control environment (e.g. Git) Superb troubleshooting & debugging skills Able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment Must be self-driven to stay up-to-date on the trends and techniques in a changing industry Desirable Skills:

Experience with ReactJS/VueJS Ability and commitment to training, mentoring, and working with other designers and developers Experience in working on PWA projects An ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at the same time A great attention to detail and be highly organized BigCommerce page builder experience / custom widget development Americaneagle.com provides its employees with an energetic work environment and opportunities to further develop their skills.
