ABOUT THE POSITION

Senior Structural Engineer - Flexible location

Our New England transportation team is looking for a

Senior Project Engineer

to work on large, complex transport and related projects across the VHB footprint. This role will allow for location flexibility for the right person.

Responsibilities

Lead pursuits of major bridge and other transportation projects

Assist in preparation of qualification packages, proposals and other marketing materials

Manage major bridge and other large/complex transportation projects

Provide project management support/mentorship to other project managers

Provide technical support/mentorship to structural engineering staff

Perform oversight of engineering design for bridges and other transportation infrastructure

Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculations.

Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.

Skills and Attributes

Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail

AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation experience

Must possess strong project management and technical skills

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Familiarity with bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete) and seismic analysis

Familiarity with structural engineering software (AASHTOware, LARSA 4D, MDX, midas Bridge, Mathcad, etc.)

Qualifications

8+ years of professional bridge design/transportation related experience

B.S. Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) (1-2 years may be substituted for a master’s degree)

Master’s degree a plus

PE license required
