Salary : $10,576 to $16,933 per month (EM-08, Minimum to Maximum) Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors. This position is located in the Division of Financial Institutions, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. The function of this organizational unit is to license, supervise, and examine state-chartered and licensed financial institutions, such as banks, savings and loan associations, savings banks, trust companies, installment lenders, financial services loan companies, credit unions, escrow depository companies, money transmitters, mortgage loan originators, mortgage loan originator companies, mortgage servicers and other financial institutions under statute. The Deputy Commissioner of Financial Institutions is generally responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Division, providing technical advice and assistance to the Commissioner of Financial Institutions and handling other administrative duties as may be assigned by the Commissioner. This position is necessary to provide continuity and expertise, as the Commissioner's position is filled by appointment. Legal Authorization to Work Requirement:

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements: Education:
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects. General Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in any one or a combination of the following: Professional accounting or auditing experience; or Experience teaching accounting at the college or university level. Specialized Experience:
Two (2) years of responsible professional experience which demonstrated knowledge of the business operations of a financial institution(s), including the interrelatedness of various financial transactions and their effect on the overall condition of the institution. Two (2) years of responsible professional experience which demonstrated knowledge and application of generally accepted professional accounting and auditing principles, theory and practices for the purpose of examining the business operations of financial institutions. Such experience must have involved the examination of financial institutions to determine particularly the institution's sound capital, the quality of its loans and securities portfolios, the existence of practices likely to lead to financial difficulties, and possible violations of applicable laws or regulations. At least one year of this experience must have been comparable to the next lower level in State service (Financial Institution Examiner III). Financial Institution Examiner III
- Conducts field examinations of considerable scope and complexity, usually of large financial institutions, to determine solvency, soundness of management and policies, actions of officers and directors, and compliance under the laws; determines the procedures, methods and extent of investigations as assigned; assigns work and consolidates and analyzes results of such examinations; prepares final examination reports; or conducts the most complex analyses and investigations of applications filed by financial institutions for licensure or approval of proposed actions; develops forms, procedures, guidelines and standards to be used in the review of administrative applications, off-site monitoring of financial institutions and licensure and review of escrow depositories; and performs other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Experience:
Applicants must possess one (1) year of professional work experience which included (1) planning and directing the work of
professional financial institution examiners ; (2) assigning and reviewing their work; (3) advising them on difficult problem areas; (4) training and developing subordinates; and (5) evaluating their work performance. Administrative Experience:
Applicants must possess one (1) year of experience which involved active participation in, and major responsibility for the development, management, execution and coordination of policies, activities and programs. Substitutions Allowed:
