**This role is an Independent Contractor and requires either a Sole Proprietorship (EIN) or LLC along with Liability Insurance.
SITE OF SERVICE:
Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD and DiLorenzo Pentagon Health Clinic (DPHC), Washington, DC.
HCWs shall receive notification two weeks prior to the reassignment to another location with a 40-mile commuting radius of their assigned MTF.
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Degree/Education:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained. A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Successful completion of an internship and residency program (corresponding to the specialty required) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association. Minimum of 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting. Board eligible or board certified as required. Must have the following hands-on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Minimum of 1 year experience within preceding three (3) years in the specialty, and minimum of five (5) years’ experience, within the last seven (7) years, working in military medical or clinic facility. Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine. Shall be a U.S. citizen. Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers. Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and performing all services required under the contract. CORE DUTIES: Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF. Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities. Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges. Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling. Order diagnostic tests as applicable and request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated. Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures, and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. HOURS: Operates Monday – Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed on weekends and federal holidays. Duty hours include a one-hour, unpaid lunch period. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment. LUKE
