Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the Executive Vice President. Must display sound judgement and exercise discretion when directing the activities of the Information Technology Department. Designs, develops, implements, and manages all aspects of the College’s Information Technology Department.

Directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of the technology infrastructure of the College.

Develops vision and strategies plans for Information Technology applications to support and guide the College’s strategies plan. Establishes goals and objectives for the department and assesses the progress regularly.

Leads the development, implementation, and management of the organization's information security program.

Produces, installs, and maintains all computer hardware and software and all other products/supplies necessary to keep computer systems operable and with the ability to fulfill requests for computer support.

Responsible for maintaining all licenses and service contracts, budget preparations and management.

Maintains close relationship with vendors which provide computer hardware, software, and support services.

Establishes new equipment, software and processes continuously, recommends changes as appropriate, and supervises their installation.

Performs routine maintenance and updates to infrastructure and servers.

Provides exceptional customer and end-user support for faculty, staff, and student users.

Supervises and directs activities of the networks and end-users’ staff and provides “hands-on” support as needed.

Consults with executive management, staff members and faculty for needs assessments. Provides recommendations for the development and maintenance of effective business system support solutions.

Maintains current knowledge in the field of technology, especially networking and updates training as needed.

Directs the planning and development of the College’s website to include all web applications.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, computer science (information technology), mathematics, statistics, management information science or related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the principles and technique of planning programs in an information technology environment related to the priorities of the college. Higher Education Experience with voice/data communications, using College Ellucian, Network Infrastructure, VioP Telephone Systems, and Internet Security Monitoring. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with users, technical staff, management, and vendors.

Additional Comments

Valid driver's license required. Fast pace working environment may require additional work during emergency situations. Ability to adjust to changing situations and meet deadlines as appropriate. On call, flexible work schedule, provide on call support to the college.
