Position Summary:
Lead the development and execution of the College of Public Affairs and Community Service promotion, marketing, storytelling, and communication efforts to support undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, as well as other college and Dean’s Office activities and events. Collaborate with University Communications, college’s departments/units/schools, engagement programs, and community partners on the marketing and communications efforts for the college using a variety of social media, news media, and other communication platforms. Help develop and execute strategic marketing and communication plans for the college and units/programs. Identify and monitor key market performance indicators and marketing/communications market trends that support student enrollment. Design and produce various reports, marketing materials, videos, and presentations for the college. Write feature stories, news releases, scientific communication, faculty and student highlights, newsletter content, website content, social media posts, and perform copy editing. Develop and execute printed materials, multimedia & video projects, CPACS website, newsletters, social media channels, annual alumni event, swag materials, and other marketing or communications efforts. Assist with marketing and recruitment materials, event planning, coordination, and promotion, branding efforts, and other needs as they arise.
Job Duties Responsibility Area:
Oversight & Development
Oversee and execute all marketing and communications efforts for CPACS.
Execute strategic communications and marketing plans for the college/units/programs.
Research, write, edit, and design marketing and communications pieces for print, web, multimedia/video projects, and social media.
Liaison to MARCOMM and the marketing departments of Grad Studies, NU Foundation & Alumni Association.
Coordinate with UNO contacts to elevate the CPACS brand and tell our story through UNO Alumni magazine features, MARCOMM features, UNO graduate and other highlights, and local media.
Create and execute email strategy for marketing campaigns and email communications and newsletters.
Develop creative content to highlight CPACS units, degree programs and accomplishments.
Develop creative content in support of enrollment and recruiting efforts.
Promotion of college-wide/special events including planning and executing the annual Distinguished Alumni event.
Oversee production of the college’s annual print publication, the CPACS Annual Report.
Coordinate photo shoots and videos for marketing materials.
Coordinate purchase swag materials each academic year, including welcome items.
Onboard new employees with UNO marketing/comms platforms.
Provide ongoing support and training for staff and faculty with UNO marketing/comms platform.

Create content, graphics, and videos as promo/advertising/marketing media and to promote faculty, staff, alumni, and student achievements on CPACS social channels.
Support and/or train staff in the area of website/social media on platforms such as Cascade, HubSpot, and LucidPress.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or other related discipline.
Required Experience:
One (1) year experience in developing marketing campaigns using print, social media and/or multimedia, with an emphasis on an academic setting.

Master’s degree in related field.
Preferred Experience:
Five (5) years minimum experience in developing marketing campaigns using print, social media and/or multimedia, with an emphasis on an academic setting.
