Senior Network Engineer:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for administering and supporting the organization's data networks, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, MPLS, routers, and related systems such as network management, optimization, and monitoring tools installation. Experience in the energy or financial services industries is highly valued, as both sectors require robust, secure, and highly resilient networking infrastructures. Familiarity with the unique compliance, reliability, and performance requirements within these industries will be crucial for success in this role.
Key responsibilities include conducting advanced analysis, design, implementation, and management of complex network configurations. This role involves acquiring and customizing equipment and software to implement and support networks, ensuring ongoing support for existing networks, coordinating projects, and performing related duties as required.
Job Duties:
Design and support Enterprise Core Networking for Cisco Nexus switches, demonstrating proficiency with these platforms.
Manage Enterprise WAN Networking, including QoS, VPN, and MPLS.
Install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot networking components for internet, local area, and wide area connectivity, ensuring network security, reliability, and performance.
Collaborate with the IT team on tasks related to Disaster Recovery and avoidance.
Monitor network performance and resources to proactively increase network uptime.
Manage network operating systems like Palo Alto and Cisco IOS, and network technologies such as STP, LACP, PoE, VLANs, VTP, 802.1x, port security, and monitoring configurations.
Serve as an escalation point for other support teams and participate in the on-call rotation.
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
Current CCIE certification.
Experience in implementing, managing, and monitoring MPLS.
Strong troubleshooting and interpersonal skills.
Industry experience in energy or financial services, with an understanding of the specific challenges related to network security, compliance, and scalability.
Technology Specific Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in advanced networking switching and routing technologies, including:
Firewall and security technology, network security, and LAN/WAN infrastructure protocols. Cisco, Palo Alto, and Meraki routers, wireless, firewalls, and switches. Routing protocols, specifically BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Firewall policies and rule sets, including Cisco ASA and Cisco Meraki hardware platforms. Cisco Nexus, Meraki, MPLS, Routing, Wireless, EIGRP, BGP, Radius, VPN, and Network Load Balancing.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in implementing, managing, and monitoring Cisco Unified Communications Manager, call reporting and accounting, SIP, PRI, and video conferencing. Experience in managing data center operations, network performance tuning, monitoring, alerting, and notifications.
