What You’ll Do:
The Role:
As a Check-in attendant, you work to further the mission of The Trustees and preserve our special places by providing superior service during this annual event during the months of April and May. Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens, a scenic public garden and historic home located in North Andover, is currently hiring a part-time check-in attendant for our Celebrate Spring event. This incredible property will transform from April 24th – May 12th with a bulb display, decorations and the historic home open for self-guided tours.
Specifically, you’ll:
- Greet, check-in and inform visitors as their first point of contact for Celebrate Spring.
- Set-up and breakdown the check-in area each day (Wednesday-Sunday)
- Assist with directions for visitors
- Prior use of ACME is desirable
- Join training sessions prior to event to have an overview of event and overall trail.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering visitor questions about the event trail, the event, and the property.
This is a seasonal, nonexempt position (40 hours/week) reporting directly to the Visitor Services and Retail Manager.

Skills and Experience:
- Desire to engage with and serve the public
- Attention to Detail and a friendly demeanor
- Strong communication skills, dependability, and punctuality
- Flexibility to support property operations in a variety of positions
- Keep public-facing workstations neat and stocked with relevant materials
- Provide flexible availability including evenings and weekends as needed
- Represent the property in a professional manner with appropriate attire
Eligibility Criteria:
- This position typically works a Wednesday-Sunday schedule for the event, with day shifts.
- Able to work well with people in a team environment and to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- Able to function and act both independently & as a team, plus make decisions & multitask under pressure.
- Math skills for handling and counting cash
- Able to consistently lift 40lbs & stand for long periods of time (at least 6 hours) outdoors
- Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
- A valid driver’s license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees’ driving policy. [if needed]
- A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.
- High School Diploma Required
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of one year of work experience.
