Job Description
Duties associated with this position include:
Oversee and provide direction for one or more areas of manufacturing, with a scope of at least 10 direct reports. Responsible for the set up and operation of all equipment required for efficient manufacturing of high-quality products. Provides Line/Function Leadership through example in order to motivate personnel in the area and form positive working relationships with supporting functions within the company. Responsible for instructing employees in the proper operation of the equipment in compliance with all standard operating procedures. Directs line/function operations to ensure compliance to all state and federal regulatory, GMP, and Safety requirements. Maintain logbooks for equipment, materials, etc. per standard operating procedures. Verify the counts of all materials issued for use in production.
Measure, label and record all rejected and/or returned materials, prepare and complete accurately all required paperwork. Detail oriented with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ensures variances and other controlled documentation are completed timely and accurately, as necessary. Regularly monitors department safety practices. Consistently meet or exceed production goals and performance indicators for high quality products. Participate in daily production tasks as needed, required or requested. Coordinates the efforts of departments in support of production (Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Maintenance).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
◼ Knowledge of contemporary pharmaceutical and manufacturing practices and procedures.
◼ Knowledge and skill in using computer software, to include spreadsheet, word processing, and data base.
◼ Skill in operating various office equipment, such as computer, calculator, facsimile, copy machine, and telephone.
◼ Skill in efficient manufacturing techniques, production scheduling, materials, and supply chain management.
◼ Knowledge and skill in operating various specialized equipment, to include pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
◼ Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
◼ Ability to communicate with coworkers, management team members, and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
◼ Ability to work with minimal supervision.
◼ Ability to maintain confidentiality.
◼ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
◼ Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
◼ Ability to read and interpret facilities orders.
◼ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
◼ Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
◼ Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and subordinate instructions.
◼ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and other individuals.
Education Requirements: Candidates must possess an Associate’s degree in Science or equivalent, or have 3+ years’ experience in a similar function; excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Typical 3rd shift production schedule is 4, 10-hour days. Must be available for various days of the week and a 5-day schedule as indicated. Overtime rates apply to hours over 40 per week. Standard work hours for 3rd shift are 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Alternative work hours/work schedule may be required at the discretion of management. A 15% differential for working on 3rd shift. Training will occur on 1st shift.
