Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Product Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks, sheet metal design, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings. The Product Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of OneH2's products.
This role requires close collaboration with the 3D CAD and 2D CAD engineers, manufacturing team, electrical engineers, project management, vendors, and the supply chain team. The ideal candidate should be a creative problem-solver, capable of finding solutions to complex challenges, and providing support to other engineers with innovative ideas and technical expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Design mechanical components and parts.
- Assemble complex models featuring in-house parts, assemblies and components from vendors.
- Ability to design for welding, sheet metal, and general fabrication needs
- Interpret and draft 3D models using Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Ensure 3D models are created within specified tolerancing ranges.
- Develop 3D models with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles in mind.
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using software such as ANSYS. (Preferred)
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Review and verify accuracy of models and drawings to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Be able to spec components for systems based on industry standards like SAE, NEC, NFPA, ASME and other engineering committees.
- Provide technical support and assist in troubleshooting design-related issues.
- Maintain and update CAD libraries and documentation.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide input on design improvements.
- Developing statements of procedures and standards for a multifunctional team.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain them for future version control.
- Maintain and continuously improve the design, functionality, and performance of OneH2 products.
- Collaborate with 3D CAD and 2D CAD engineers to develop and refine product designs and specifications.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are optimized for production, fabrication, and assembly.
- Liaise with electrical engineers to ensure product designs integrate seamlessly with electrical components and systems.
- Coordinate with the project management team to ensure product timelines and goals are met.
- Manage relationships with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of components that meet quality standards.
- Work with the supply chain team to ensure product designs and materials meet operational requirements and cost-efficiency targets.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling using SolidWorks. Minimum 3 years of experience.
- Experience in designing parts using sheet metal features in SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding and ability to draft and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Ability to create 3D models within specified tolerancing ranges.
- Knowledge and application of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Solid mechanical background with the ability to understand and interpret complex designs.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in creating and reviewing models and drawings.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to use SolidWorks Add-Ins for Static Study for preliminary Finite Element Analysis (FEA) studies.
- Knowledge of the hydrogen generation industry is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- The position is on site in Clover, South Carolina.
- Ability to commute to work daily.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4-6 Years of experience in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting using SolidWorks.
- 2-5 years of experience in the energy, oil & gas, or hydrogen generation industry.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and software such as ANSYS. Minimum 1 year experience in ANSYS.
- Master's in mechanical engineering is preferred but not required.
- Experience in the hydrogen generation industry or similar sectors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
