Our client is looking for some support on her content strategy team. This is ultimately a UX writing job but more on the junior side of things. If you have experience in UX, UI or content management, this could be a good fit for you.
Please note the client refers to the role as Content Designer because you sit on the design team, however this is strictly a writing role.
Job Description:
We're looking for a curious and passionate content designer to join our growing content design team. Working alongside another content designer, you'll craft compelling, user-centric experiences that seamlessly guide users through our products while aligning with our business goals. Your work will span various touchpoints across our product ecosystem, including onboarding flows, UI microcopy, help content, feature descriptions, and weather forecasting insights.
About the Team:
You'll be the second content designer focused on our consumer products, working within our broader design team that includes product designers and a graphic designer. Reporting to and collaborating closely with a senior content designer, you'll contribute to initiatives across website and iOS and Android apps.
The Impact You'll Make:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, researchers, product managers, marketers, meteorologists, developers, and customer support) to deliver cohesive user experiences.
2. Develop human-centered, accessible, and inclusive copy that follows UX writing principles and best practices.
3. Optimize content based on usability testing and analytics to enhance user comprehension and engagement.
4. Contribute to our existing UX content style guide, ensuring consistent application of nomenclature, formatting standards, and voice and tone attributes.
5. Support content design initiatives across the organization, helping promote its integration into the product development process.
6. Contribute to the ideation and realization of product improvements and new features.
Our Process:
Content designers are integral to our product development process. Our typical workflow includes:
• Discovery phase: Understanding technical architecture and design system
• Design phase: Collaborating with product and design teams to define requirements and create user journeys
• Implementation phase: Working closely with developers and conducting reviews before QA
Tools We Use:
• Google Suite
• Userzoom for research
• Amplitude for analytics
• Figma for design collaboration
• Jira for project management
• Confluence for documentation
Must Haves:
• 2 years of experience in UX writing, content design, and/or content strategy
• Proven track record of UX-focused product writing in a cross-functional technology environment
• Understanding of user experience research practices and data-driven design decision-making
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Portfolio demonstrating your UX writing and/or content strategy work
• Ability to context-switch effectively across multiple projects
Nice to Haves:
• Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools
• Experience with usability testing and analytics tools
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
• Background or interest in meteorology or environmental sciences
• Background or interest in privacy compliance
Growth Opportunities:
