What You Will Do:
- Follow all safety guidelines and participate as a fully empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of zero incidents.
- Managing multiple automation projects as assigned.
- Setup, program, modify, and maintain a variety of PLC controlled equipment, Human Machine Interfaces, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems, and database reporting applications. Applications include Rockwell Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio5000, FactoryTalk View & RSView, DriveTools, as well as Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC.
- Update machine documentation and electrical schematics as necessary.
- Assist on service calls and troubleshoot issues on projects as needed.
What You Will Do:

Applications include Rockwell Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio5000, FactoryTalk View & RSView, DriveTools, as well as Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC.
- Update machine documentation and electrical schematics as necessary.
- Assist on service calls and troubleshoot issues on projects as needed.
- Advanced knowledge of PC usage including the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to write and follow advanced PLC logic and troubleshoot logic on multiple platforms, including Allen Bradley and Siemens.
- Must be able to install and configure I/O and various modules on multiple platforms, including Allen Bradley and Siemens.
- Must be familiar with the theory of operation of basic sensing devices such as proximity sensors, photo-eyes, encoders, flow meters, etc.
- Must be able to configure PC hardware and software for use in HMI applications.
- Must be able to install and program ancillary equipment such as timers, counters, PID loop controllers, etc.
- Must be able to install and program variable frequency drives from major manufacturers like Allen Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa, and Mitsubishi.
- Must be familiar with the operation, application, and troubleshooting of AC and DC motors, VFDs, stepper motors and controls, and servo motors and controls.
- Must be familiar with basic electrical codes and power distribution systems.
- Must be familiar with the theory of digital communications and their various protocols, including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, DeviceNet, DH_485, RS-232, etc.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects to ensure timely completion.
- Must be able to direct and coordinate 3rd party contractors from different trades (electrical, mechanical, tech.) to ensure successful project completion.
- Must be willing to occasionally adjust work schedule as necessary to complete projects.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal).
- Familiarity with broader programming languages like C/C++ and SQL is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Controls Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other applicable field of study. 2+ years of experience in related manufacturing. 2+ years working knowledge of PLC programming and interface design.
- Ability to read and interpret advanced technical documents and manuals, Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, lead, co-workers, and other personnel. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
