Civil Practice Lead, Omaha

Wilson & Company's Omaha, NE office is currently seeking a full-time Civil Manager to support the professional development and growth of the civil team within the Private Infrastructure organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in design projects and performing complex planning, analysis, and design for railroad-related projects. This position will have a primary focus on the daily operations of engineering personnel and interoffice collaboration for rail projects. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, who enjoys being part of a team performing office and field work, and ability to collaborate and develop solutions with other disciplines.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Mentors, collaborates, and oversees regional and practice leads and project managers that support the sector.
- Manager is responsible for team utilization, and financial metrics within parameters set by the Company.
- Monitor and update pursuit pipeline and operational labor backlog.
- Mentor, train, recruit, and retain staff in coordination with the staffing plan.
- Ability to work with other offices and practice areas within the Company.
- Implement and monitor compliance with firm-wide safety policies.
- Is transparent and communicates with appropriate stakeholders within the organization.
- Ensure that mentoring, training, and development of project teams is conducted at all levels.
- Ensure that goals pertaining to intentional staffing planning, recruitment and retention are met.
- Actively manage projects and support staff technically.
- Support and contribute to the sales goals of the team
- Engages and collaborates with marketing team.
- Enter and maintain applicable data using Vantagepoint
- Identifies and engages in professional organizations and key conferences/industry events critical to support of growing practice area.
- The position will conform to Wilson & Company's flexible work policy and is not anticipated to be a hybrid or remote work position.

Required Experience:
Relevant experience in the railroad market sectors.
- Ten plus years of experience, licensure as a professional engineer, and an advanced degree in a related area of Civil Engineering
- Experience with Class I Railroads preferred
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and licensure as a Professional Engineer license with the ability to obtain licenses in other states
- Experience that demonstrates successful management and financial responsibility of the engineering business
- Ensure quality management with implementation of quality control standards.
- Must be comfortable with frequent travel at times.
- Communication is key for this position

Annual Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 (Depending on Experience)
