Quality Assurance Specialist

Schedule:
rotating weekly schedules start times between 2am and 3am - and every other weekend
** Essential Job Functions:**
- Perform routine quality control inspections on incoming and outgoing products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Implement and perform quality control procedures to minimize defects, reduce variability, and optimize production processes.
- Coordinate with Commodity Managers and Quality & Inventory Specialists to address quality concerns, arrange product return, and manage defective item replacement or repair processes.
- Analyze and report on quality control metrics, identify trends, and propose action plans for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline quality management processes and implement best practice procedures.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality control processes and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards pertaining to quality control management.
- Conduct internal audits and participate in our external and customer audits.
- Support the Safety and Risk Management Processes / OSHA and conduct safety inspections.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
** Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in quality control, perishable produce environment.
- Excellent knowledge of quality control principles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues, evaluate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Must be authorized to work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for the US
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and utilize ladders and other warehouse related equipment
- Ability to stand, move, and bend for entire shift
- Ability to reach over head
- Ability to work in a cold environment for full shifts
