We are seeking a qualified Accounting Specialist to join our team located in Austin, Texas. This is a hybrid position, where you will be expected to work in our Rollingwood office two days a week.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have a strong understanding of accounts payable and payroll processing, a basic understanding of general ledger accounting, and be a quick learner of new financial systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Onboard vendors and manage vendor invoicing/payment functions
  • Process invoices and route for approval using authority matrix
  • Process payroll and employee reimbursements
  • Validate corporate card transactions against spending policy
  • Manage 401k elections/contributions/deposits
  • Manage benefits deductions and contributions in payroll system
  • Facilitate new-hire benefits onboarding and open enrollment
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Map transactions from AP and payroll systems into NetSuite
  • Manage other accounting projects and tasks as needed

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proficiency in Bill.com and Rippling, as well as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams)
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures; NetSuite experience is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization, as well as to external customers, which includes verbal, written and nonverbal communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, high attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Follow-through on tasks and responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • BA or BS in Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of combined Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Accounting experience
