Position Summary
Under general supervision, perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of electrical systems related to lighting, power, grounding, HVAC, motor control centers, motors, generators, hydro - electric plants, and other electrical systems.
At the Electrician Sr. level, candidates are responsible for performing the above with limited supervision, at a highly skilled level. They will also have a clear understanding of the National Electrical Code for the practical safeguarding of persons and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity.
The ideal candidate will have a solid base understanding of electrical theory and general practices and a passion for excellence in the electrical trade.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 4 years of related work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience. - Electrician Sr. only
- Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position.
- State Journeyman Electrician License.
- State Master Electrician License. - Electrician Sr. only
- Must be able to possess and maintain a valid Class 'R' Colorado driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
- This is a safety sensitive job where an employee's direct action/inaction may lead to immediate harm to self, team, or the public and/or will have significant risk to the mission of Denver Water. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical equipment and related systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to diagnose potential problems related to the equipment's operation.
- Disassemble, replace components, reassemble, and test electrical equipment to verify optimum performance utilizing standard testing devices.
- Install standard materials such as PVC coated rigid, RMC, and other electrical type materials related to the electrical industry as directed by the National Electrical Code. Adhere to internal engineering standards.
- Assist with ordering and scheduling of materials. Implement and manage other shops or sections involved in common projects.
- Educate and instruct subordinates regarding electrical codes, engineering standards, and safety hazards associated to the industry.
- Utilize, stock, and maintain a company vehicle to complete assigned tasks.
- Pull necessary permits for electrical work. Ensure standards and codes are enforced.
- Utilize computer software programs for documents and work orders completion.
- Must be able to perform safety sensitive functions.
- Perform related work as required.
- Design and layout work from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and work orders as required. Assist with ordering and scheduling materials.
- Implement and manage other shops or sections involved in common projects.
- Oversee electrical and electronic operations of hydroelectric plants, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical and electronic equipment in hydroelectric power plants, pump stations, and water treatment facilities.
