Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program with Associates Degree.

Experience / Qualifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC, Current Florida RT or TT license, CRT is accepted, but must become a Registered Respiratory Therapist within 36 months from initial hire date. American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification, NRP Certified within 90 days from initial hire date.

Position Summary The Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner will perform all respiratory care techniques in both critical and non-critical care areas. They will assist and advise staff Certified Respiratory Practitioners. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, CPT, incentive spirometry, mechanical ventilation, arterial blood gases, pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, assist with fiberoptic bronchoscopy and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.

Threshold Requirements

These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation TB/PPD Surveillance Program Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
