About the Role:

Zuppardo’s Family Market, family owned and operated, has been a staple in the community for over 90 years, providing delicious food, great value and exceptional service. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial staff to join our team to help us carry on that tradition. As a Janitorial staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our retail store. Your main goal is to ensure that our customers have a pleasant shopping experience by providing them with a clean and safe environment. You will be an integral part of our team, ensuring that our store is always presentable and welcoming to our customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a retail environment
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners

Responsibilities:

• Indoor duties include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash removal, dusting, window cleaning,
• Monitor, clean, maintain and restock restrooms
• Outdoor duties include but not limited to emptying trash and sweeping parking lot
• Be flexible and work at a fast pace in a multi-tasked job
• Respond immediately to any major spills or other cleaning crisis
• Dusting and wiping down surfaces
• Clean all common areas

Skills:

As a Janitorial staff, you will utilize your attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain the cleanliness and organization of our retail store. You will also use your communication skills to work effectively with other team members and ensure that our store is always presentable and welcoming to our customers. Additionally, you will use your physical abilities to lift and move heavy objects, and your knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure that our store is properly maintained.

Essential Functions

• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Ability to walk or stand for 8 hours and sometimes exceeding
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, reach Above shoulder height
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and their uses
• Ability to work in the outdoor elements as needed
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays and work flexible schedule as needed
