SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
- The Dock/Warehouse Material Handler assists in all dock operations phases.
- Reports to Dock Lead and Senior Logistics and Aftermarket Manager.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keeps dock and warehouse area organized, clean and in safe working condition.
- Assists with loading and unloading freight onto trucks and trailers.
- Sorting, wrapping, packing, unpacking, and repacking as needed.
- Storing items, accordingly, maintaining proper storage procedures and rotating stock appropriately, ensuring compliance with company and safety procedures.
- Reports all safety hazards to Dock Leads and/or Sr. Logistics and Aftermarket Manager, immediately.
- Responsible for meeting deadlines and responding to special departmental needs.
- Required to lift, carry, push, and pull at a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Operating equipment such as baler, compactor, forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Completing daily safety inspection checklists as needed.
- Cooperate with Dock Leads, Senior Logistics & Aftermarket Manager, and co-workers.
- Attends general assembly, department, and safety meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- One to two years of positive work history, preferably as a dock worker, warehouse or similar role.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Fluent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand simple instructions.
SKILL:
- Fluent oral communication skills.
- Bilingual plus.
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special needs.
- Ability to process materials in a safe, efficient, and secure manner.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Must have quantity and quality of work performed.
