Job Description
INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants' knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
High school graduate or equivalent. A minimum of four years of formal electrical training and four years of journeyman-level experience in the repair of electrical assemblies and components are required. Basic computer skills are required and knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). External hires will complete six months at the apprentice level. Demonstrated ability to perform the journeyman work will qualify the new hire for assignment to journeyman level. External hires will complete six months at the apprentice level. All internal applicants will have a record evaluation check to determine whether they are eligible to advance to the interview process. Candidates will be automatically disqualified for consideration if their employment record for the twelve (12) months preceding the date of the posting reflects any of the following:

•Any instances of absence without leave (AWOL)
•Any disciplinary actions
•Any valid customer complaints

Additional Requirements (Internal/External Candidates)
Repairs and maintains electrical assemblies and components required to supply electrical power to the rail system and MARTA facilities including large AC/DC power systems. Uses a variety of tools, machines, and test equipment included in a complete electrical repair unit. Performs electrical diagnosis. May perform duties as a member of a work team/group lead by a Journeyman Electrical Power Technician.
1. Performs electrical diagnosis; repairs and maintains electrical power supply systems; records data. Reads and interprets electrical schematics and prints and has general knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC's).
2. Repairs and maintains assemblies and components, including motors, transformers, resistors, capacitors, coils, relays, and filters.
3. Uses a variety of tools, machines and test equipment included in a complete electrical repair unit such as volt-ohmmeters, ammeters, frequency meters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, etc.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess or be able to obtain within six months of employment, a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. Must have no DUI's in the previous five years and no more than three moving violations in the previous two years. Must complete all required certification such as CPR, On-Track-Equipment, Wayside Level 4 Flagging certification.
