Overview
East West Bank is currently seeking a Relationship Manager to help develop, manage & grow the Debtor in Possession (DIP)" financing portfolio; responsibilities include evaluating the company's financial situation, structuring the loan agreement, negotiating terms with creditors, and monitoring the company's cash flow during the bankruptcy process to ensure compliance with court orders and protect lender interests. This position will be based in our New York office.
Responsibilities
- Assessing a company's financial health, including cash flow, asset valuation, and debt structure, to determine viability for DIP financing.
- Designing the terms of the DIP loan, including interest rates, collateral requirements, and repayment schedule, considering the specific needs of the bankrupt company and the court's requirements.
- Evaluating the risk associated with lending to a company in bankruptcy, considering potential downside scenarios and mitigation strategies.
- Facilitating discussions with various creditor groups to secure their support for the DIP financing package, including addressing concerns about adequate protection for their claims.
- Preparing and submitting necessary legal documents to the bankruptcy court to obtain approval for the DIP loan.
- Overseeing the company's adherence to the DIP loan agreement and court orders, ensuring proper use of funds and reporting any potential issues.
- Working with the company to develop a plan for emerging from bankruptcy, including potential sources of exit financing.
- Develop, manage, and maintain relationships with specialized lending firms, debtors, originator, etc
- Source & originate new deals. Prepare credit approval write-ups,
- Present and recommend credits for approval at appropriate level. Analyze and negotiate covenants and other key terms with the customer as part of the deal team.
- Acquire qualified referrals from existing clients and investors
- Cross sell Bank products and services
- Identifies and analyze potential loan markets to develop prospects for commercial loans
- Recommend and implement appropriate changes to establish policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of corporate finance principles, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, and credit analysis.
- Expertise in bankruptcy law and procedures, particularly Chapter 11 regulations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with diverse stakeholders including company management, creditors, and legal counsel
- Detail-oriented approach to review complex financial information and ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Experience in investment banking, restructuring advisory, or commercial lending is typically preferred
- Bachelors degree in finance, management or a related field.
- Completion to a corporate or other formal credit training program is preferred
- 10+ years of relevant CRE business experience
- Diverse underwriting, credit structuring, and bank product knowledge
- Must have demonstrated track record to sell and build relationships with C-level executives
- Demonstrate high level of expertise in sales, networking, negotiation, business acumen, relationship building and execution of responsibilities
- Possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Have the flexibility to travel
- Be a critical thinker, capable of developing strategy and making recommendations to management for advancement of banks objectives
Compensation
The base pay range for this position is USD $175,000.00/Yr. - USD $250,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
