Astek is looking for a full time Business Development Manager in the New York City area to join our team. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for overseeing the sale of our custom digitally printed wallcoverings and distributed products. This individual will be the direct point of contact with the customer. The BDM will be assigned an in-house project manager who will help with the day-to-day tasks (quoting new projects, sending out samples, working with the designers and production staff to help achieve deadlines, etc). The BDM will be required to know our products and capabilities (after a training period) and will be in charge of ensuring the clients needs are being met.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Acquire new customers within their territory
  • Maintain and grow business and relationships with existing customers in their territory
  • Actively update client sample libraries
  • Regularly give product presentations to designers within territory
  • Attend, network and engage in local organizations such as IIDA, NEWH and ASID
  • Resolve customer concerns and inquiries
  • Regularly update management of projects in pipeline
  • Maintains minimum quarterly goals / quotas
  • Makes recommendations to the customer based on our product and capabilities to fit their needs
  • Maintains documentation of customer contacts / accounts
  • Travel as needed to annual Trade Shows - BDNY, HD Expo

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3+ year(s) of related sales experience
  • Experience in wallcovering / digital printing (ideal but not required)
  • Customer service and people skills
  • Phone, email, in-person communication skills
  • Prospecting skills
  • Territory management aptitude
  • Skills in negotiation and closing a project
  • Ability to meet goals and deadlines
  • Patience to deal with customer issues
  • Motivated and positive attitude
  • Team Player
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30lbs (sample kit)
