Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities Annual growth of the Nantucket Hotel event revenues by upselling catering packages and wedding add-ons. Staying active within the island communities to maintain a presence at meetings, planning events, and committees. Conduct site visits for booked and prospective events. Prompt communication with clients from turnover leading up to the event. Maintain proper documentation of all aspects of events including special requests and financial details. Monitor all events to ensure group expectations are met and resolve any unexpected challenges that may arise. Conduct tastings for qualifying events, working alongside the Chef and F&B Manager. Develop menu, floorplan, and timeline for all booked events. Timely execution of BEOs and group resumes for all booked events. Work closely with the food and beverage team for day-of coordination with clients, outside vendors, and all department heads to ensure all details of BEO are executed. Follow up with all clients post-event. Ring in all events and work with accounting and the DOSE to reconcile all events. Assist food and beverage team with all in-house events. Act as onsite representative for marketing initiatives. Qualifications
Position Overview The LGR Events Manager is a critical role that integrates all event responsibilities for the Nantucket Hotel & Resort, collaborating with the Director of Sales and Events for successful execution of all events and overall growth for the department. The Events team operates in a fast-paced environment requiring immediate communication with clients and timely execution of BEOs. The position reports to Makenzie Wall, Director of Sales and Events, and works closely with the on-site operations team, the remote Reservations team, and the Food and Beverage leadership team. The Event Manager must work well across and within other hotel departments, being flexible based on business levels and needs. This person should be a strong project manager and creative problem solver while bringing passion and leadership skills to events. The position requires strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently; a customer service mindset; and excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Tripleseat, All Seated, and Positouch is ideal but not required, as these programs are easy to learn. This is a year-round position based on-site on Nantucket between March and early December. Remote work is optional for January and February when the hotel is closed. Weekend and evening work is expected during peak event periods. During spring and fall, the work schedule can be intense. Hybrid work is allowed when needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in Catering and Sales, as well as Wedding and Event Coordination experience.
