Are you ready for new challenges and new opportunities? Join our team! The Academy Director is responsible for fostering an environment that promotes player growth and development. This position focuses on identifying and recruiting talent that aligns with D.C. United's player profiles and has potential to contribute to higher levels within the organization. The role establishes a clear vision and framework for the academy and its coaching staff, ensuring the academy’s strategy aligns with the club’s overarching goals and values. This includes integrating young players into the first team and positioning the club for both short-term achievements and long-term success. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise all operations of the D.C. United Academy Implement the first team’s playing style and methodology across all age groups Oversee the strategy for talent identification Manage all business aspects of the development academy, including financial, operational, and technical responsibilities Encourage innovations and identify areas for a competitive edge Represent the club at coaching conferences and professional seminars Maintain clear and effective communication with families regarding player progress Manage Individual Development Plans and player pathway goals throughout the year Work closely with the head scout, helping as needed Attend Academy training sessions whenever possible Support the growth and development of Academy coaching staff when relevant Build and maintain positive partnerships with local clubs and academies Develop a comprehensive college placement program for Academy players Desired Skills: Previous experience as an academy director or director of an MLS NEXT or youth club Experience managing multiple teams and player development programs simultaneously Experience as an A licensed soccer coach High level of administrative experience within a youth club setting Requirements: Strong experience in business administration Vast knowledge of the local, regional, and national soccer landscape Must be available to travel when necessary and work evenings, weekends, and holidays with some irregular hours Attend MLS NEXT games and events when possible Salary Range:

$125,000-$135,000 (commensurate with experience) All candidates must complete a successful background check. D.C. United is committed to uplifting our community, staff, and club.
