Senior Mining Engineer

to join our

underground team

at

South Kalgoorlie Operations. This is offered as either a

FIFO

or

residential

role, working on an

8:6 roster ,

12-hour shifts . Key accountabilities: Lead and co-ordinate drill and blast functions in alignment with weekly production plans. Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to generate practical and executable weekly plans and 13-week plans. Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe work environment. Main point of contact to the Underground Manager and Mine Foreman for planning and executing the weekly plan and holding the technical team accountable. Direct and guide members of the production mining team, mentoring and coaching junior members to develop their skills. Provide guidance and advice to planning engineers for the preparation of the mining stope notes. Actively identify risks and threats to safely achieving targets, and implement strategies to minimise or eliminate these risks. Promote and enforce standard design practices and processes across the team. Assist with and monitor the performance of production, paste and infrastructure projects, including regular interactions with various contractors to plan and progress these projects. Responsible for managing stope reconciliations, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for optimization. Drive continuous improvement within the mining production team. Support the Underground Manager in facilitating DEMIRS visits, inspections and investigations. Assist with the preparation of end-of-week and month compliance reports. Hold appointed Alternate Underground Manager ticket as required. Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering Minimum of 5 years’ Underground hard rock mining experience, including production, mine planning, and projects/infrastructure. First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency

or

ability to acquire it (UG practical experience completed). Experience using Deswik CAD and Scheduler packages. Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Strong leadership skills and experience leading a diverse team of new-to-industry engineers. Ability to hold themselves and others accountable to their roles and responsibilities. Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence. Preferred: Experience working with a mining contractor. Experience in a mine that utilises Sub Level Open Stoping or Modified Avoca. Reside within the WA Goldfields or be willing to relocate. Experience using pastefill for underground stope filling.
