POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Associate Branch Executive oversees assigned areas of a YMCA branch, which may include membership, marketing, programs, and/or facilities. The Associate Branch Executive participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations, and collaborations with community agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establishes with the branch leadership team long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, directs, and supports employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Provides leadership for the internal operations of the branch and supervises the Member Services Representatives, Weekend/Evening Managers, and Youth Development staff, as well as other positions as assigned by the Branch Executive.
- Leads and manages the recruitment, onboarding, and recognition of program and membership volunteers, including the Togetherhood Committee.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
- Leads branch staff team in developing a yearly calendar of events for families. Coordinates schedule with other branches and marketing department.
- Responsible for birthday party revenue and coordination of gymnasium activities. Works with the Full-Time MOD and Aquatics Director on managing the scheduling and billing of parties. Provides appropriate staffing for parties.
- Meets with members regarding scholarships and MFA assistance.
- Works with the Association Finance Department and Business Office to make sure all procedures are being followed with cash handling, sales reporting, and other business functions.
- Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits monthly reports on current operations.
- Serves as the staff leader for the member-giving portion of the Annual Campaign.
- Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies. May direct branch marketing and communication efforts.
- Serves as a member of YMCA Impact Team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business, or a related field, or equivalent.
- May be substituted with four years of relevant experience
- May be substituted with an associate degree and two years of work experience in a related field
- At least five years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.
- Preferred experience in fundraising and board development.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
- Completion of YMCA required trainings upon hire
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

STARTING PAY: $77,969 annually
