Description
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, including commercial, residential, and renovation projects.
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Obtain and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for estimates.
- Maintain a database of historical costs and pricing for reference in future projects.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and support their professional development.
- Participate in project meetings and presentations to communicate estimates and assist in decision-making.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial and residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
