Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is currently seeking a National Account Manager, Total Wine & More who possesses the below qualifications.
The role is responsible for the execution of national Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits strategies and account management for Total Wine and More. The National Account Manager is the lead collaborator with field sales and our distributor partners driving seamless communication, program execution and accountability. Additionally, this role partners closely with DFWS Customer Marketing and Category Development to plan and execute local/regional programming opportunities to drive profitable sales and market share growth for our strategic partners and for Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits alike. The position reports to the National Chain Director of Sales and is remote.
Responsibilities:
- Prioritize local and regional opportunities, identify levers for future growth, and develop a tactical plan to drive volume through:
- Performance management: expert at analyzing and utilizing account-level syndicated data to gain DFWS share on a market level.
- Leverage the Customer Marketing role to develop local/regional programs that support attainment of our annual plan goals and deliver meaningful value to both companies.
- Ensure priority brand goals are established and achieved on an annual basis in conjunction with Director.
- Ensure excellent store conditions and appropriate training for both field sales and distributor partners.
- Work cross-functionally within Deutsch and externally with our distributor partners to ensure implementation of our national retail strategies.
- Influence program development to support off-premises channel sales efforts and provide direction on retail/channel strategies to the Marketing department.
- Work with RM's and DM to execute programs within accounts at best-in-class levels.
- Build relationships with key wholesaler stakeholders, both nationally and locally, to leverage relationships and ensure higher visibility of the Deutsch portfolio with our retailers.
- Monitor the retail environment and be the expert on trends and developments as it relates to key accounts, future growth, and new selling ideas.
- Develop high-level market level relationships both internal and external:
- Ensure alignment of Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits with key markets, plans and goals.
- Develop and execute customer endearment strategies that advance our relationship and increase our influence.
- Ensure appropriate execution tactics are in place to maximize effectiveness of our plans and programs.
- Develop a process to ensure speed to market on new items and OOS.
- Lead monthly DFWS business review & programming calls with field sales
- Market expertise:
- Develop and implement localized assets with category management to distill the Total Wine business as needed for chain meetings, planning meetings or surveys.
- Significant presence in top Total Wine markets through surveys and market visits.
- Financial Scope:
- Deliver annual volume and profit plan for assigned chain accounts.
- Manage account spending to budget assigned on a case rate basis.
- Submit depletion and spending LE's, as required.
- Drive improved ROI on investment plans.
- Manage travel and entertainment within budget and guidelines.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 5 -10 years' experience managing large retailers with proven track record.
- Beverage alcohol experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience leading and working with cross-functional teams.
- Must possess solid knowledge of Category Management with strong analytical skills.
- Solid computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation abilities.
- Proven proficiency in relationship development.
- Highly effective in influencing others.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Role requires 25-40% travel.
