Job Title: Echocardiographer Job Specialty: Echocardiography Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 1st, 5 days/week, 8-hour shifts; Weekend and holiday coverage on call Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: One to three years as a cardiac sonographer is required License: RDCS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International Certifications: - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an equivalent approved certification is required within 90 days of hire - Completion of a two-year Allied Health degree and successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP approved School of Ultrasound Technology or Cardiovascular Technology Must-Have: - RDCS/RCS certification within 12 months of employment is required - Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write) Job Description: - Perform Transthoracic echocardiograms - Assist with Transesophageal Echocardiograms under the direction of a trained echocardiographer - Set up and perform exercise and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms according to the standards set by the American Society of Echocardiography - Demonstrate increasing competency in the delivery of care to a primarily adult population - Other duties as assigned - Ability to float between assigned locations
