Robert Half is hiring: Accounting Manager in Union City

Our manufacturing client in Union City is seeking an interim Accounting Supervisor for a 3+ month engagement. This role primarily involves overseeing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies across multiple sites. The role requires 3-4 days onsite in Union City, California and is expected to pay $55-$60/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the functions of accounts payable and accounts receivable across various sites, ensuring adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.

• Validate account coding in accounts payable entries and ensure payments are made accurately and on time.

• Monitor and manage the Received Not Invoiced and AP aging report tie to GL.

• Aid in the resolution of discrepancies in the three-way match process.

• Support in the creation of monthly AP accrual entries and weekly check runs.

• Evaluate accounts receivable entries to ensure appropriate revenue recognition policies and payment terms are adhered to, and payments are received on time.

• Review cash receipts entries for proper cash applications.

• Monitor the AR aging report and assist with collections, working closely with the customer service team to resolve any billing issues.

• Verify the alignment of customer purchase orders and shipment packing slips with customer billings.

• Provide backup support for AP and AR functions during periods of staff absence.

• Coordinate the collection of support documentation for the annual audit.

• Assist with the month-end close process, including AP, AR, and GL.

• Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Handle ad-hoc duties as required.

• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager for a minimum of 7 years

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrable experience with 3 Way Matching

• Ability to generate and analyze Aging Reports

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Previous experience in the Manufacturing Industry is preferred
