Job Summary:
Develop and implement sports performance programs w/ area schools and community organizations focused on functional movement and injury prevention. Foster and maintain strong relationships between sports performance teams, schools, community wellness organizations, athletes, and providers.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provides strength and conditioning services to athletes and maintains strong relationships between department, schools, youth organizations, athletes, and providers.
- Offer expertise for coaches, staff, and community representative through educational seminars, 1:1 coaching sessions and other activities as requested.
- Be proficient in screening clients for safety for sports performance including jumping, weight lifting and other athletic based movements.
- Develop and implement youth weight room programming and attend sessions for guidance and cueing.
- Develop relationships and assist sports medicine physicians and rehabilitation staff as needed for transitioning clients back to full activity including program development, video analysis, and other tasks as needed.
- Attend local events and be involved in physical activity to promote a strong relationship with fitness and our communities.
- Be involved in at least 1 community engagement activity.
- Completes and participates in any additional tasks requested by Physician, Sports Performance Coordinator, school corporations and /or the administrative team.
- Complies with all regulatory guidelines and competencies required for position.
Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:
- Assists the Sports Performance Coordinator with development and implementation of new programs and clinics.
- Responsible for reporting breakdown of necessary support services and providing suggestions for improvements in services to Coordinator and/or Administrative team.
- Other duties as deemed necessary by department leadership.
Qualifications
Job Specifications:
- Education: Graduate Bachelor's degree in movement based science field (ie...kinesiology, exercise science, movement science, others as applicable to sit for appropriate certifications)
- Strong knowledge of computer use.
- Basic knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology.
- Organizational skills to effectively manage and create tracking logs.
