Job Description
Title: Production Support
Reports to: Production Support Lead
Supervises: N/A
Status: Full-time
Working Hours: 6am – 3pm
Purpose of position:
This role is needed to drive continuous improvement on our manufacturing process. The Production Support Department plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, optimize resources and maintain safety. This role develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of production design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality assurance standards. Production support functions: Designing/standardizing manufacturing process to minimize cost and maximize productivity by applying engineering principal and technology, developing documentation for manufacturing process, maintenance equipment, bridging the gap between engineer and production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify unsafe operations and practices and report the same to Manager immediately.
- Establish safety procedures and environmental regulations for employees.
- Provide engineering support for production activities to ensure maximum production.
- Perform analysis to reduce downtime and outages.
- Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
- Develop/document operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.
- Develop/document work standard and check sheet for production activities.
- Provides training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.
- Maintain equipment efficiently and safely
- Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.
- Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.
- Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production operation smoothly
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; or over five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Read, analyze and interpret common industrial, manufacturing and technical procedures, schematics, diagrams, drawings, and blueprints.
- Ability to use a personal computer, email and the internet, and have a working knowledge of the following applications; word processor, spreadsheet, database, computer-assisted design or draw program.
- Professional writing skill for documentation by using personal computer
- Define manufacturing problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form that include several abstract and concrete variables.
- Apply mathematical operations and concepts to theoretical and practical manufacturing and industrial situations.
