We are seeking an experienced forklift operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate a propane-powered forklift to move materials around the plant and load trailers. You will also perform daily basic maintenance on the forklift, including checking oil levels and conducting basic safety checks. This position involves general housekeeping and documentation of work, as well as material handling duties such as order picking, shipping, and receiving as assigned.
Responsibilities- Operate a propane-powered forklift to move materials around the plant
- Load trailers using the forklift
- Perform daily basic maintenance on the forklift, including checking oil levels and conducting basic safety checks
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace
- Document work and complete necessary paperwork
- Handle materials, including order picking, shipping, and receiving tasks
- Previous forklift experience (2 years)
- Ability to work 1st shift or 2nd shift
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Experience in material handling
- Ability to work in a large warehouse environment
- Familiarity with working with cardboard and other packaging materials

Work EnvironmentYou will be working in a large warehouse environment with multiple forklifts operating at all times. The shifts are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, or from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. High-visibility vests and steel-toed shoes are required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Biddeford, Maine.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00
